Big Dog Mercer at Harlem Avenue Lounge

Marty "Big Dog" Mercer has a great voice for blues. Backed by drummer Roger Femali and bass player Matt Cartwright, they lay down a groove I enjoy. "Big Dog" is becoming noticed! Sponsors are helping him in his journey. Go see him when you get a chance and you will know why.

The Harlem Avenue Lounge is a great place too. The best service I have ever seen. (So please tip them well!) They promote blues, and every Tuesday night is blues night. This evening is a Saturday. Say Hi to Kenny Z. when you go!

Drum solo time . . . and was really cool. Probably the most photos in a row that I have shot of a drummer to date. You may think Roger is doing some Karate yells, and you would be wrong if you thought that. Roger left everything on the stage tonight. His energy expended on the skins in rhythmic drummer like quality. Body language speaking in time with the contact of stick and skin. Too cool Roger!
