Zhou B Art Center June 2013

I enjoy going to the Zhou B Art Center. It is spacious. I like open space. It also has a lot of artists and studios, who open their doors to the public every 3rd Friday of the month. This is a cooperative with the artists, that supports each others work and offers "face time" of their work with the public. For a list of all the artists, click here.

This Friday was a brief walk through. I had traffic school the next morning, so I had to keep this evening short. I spent most of my time just walking through, saying hi to friends, and little photography. Here are a few photographs for you to enjoy.

The art gallery runs a featured artist on the second floor. This month is it Amy Donaldson. I met Amy and enjoyed her presence with her art. Her art, like with most artists, depicts who she is. With Amy it is non-traditional, abstract, colorful.

I ended with Amy Donaldson's work so that I can lead you to her Internet sites . . .

Bustes En Rose - Zhou B Art Center

This day, was the first annual event at the Zhou B Art Center, for the artists to participate in the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  The money raised at this fashion exhibit went to the Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force.

Here are some photos that I took at the event . . .

There was also a musical performance. Next time, I need to remember to get their names. The musical voice, presence, and play were astounding. Here are some photos . . .

Here are some additional photos of this evening, continuing on this floor, and then the others.

Photographs from the first floor, where the jewelry show was taking place.

Up to the 4th floor to visit . . . starting with Robin Monique Rois 4Art in Studio 403, and Diana Leviton Gondek's art "Insight" . . .

Keiko Nemeth in Studio 408 . . .

Corinna Button in Studio 405 . . .

This next photo is from artist Maria Scileppi.  I enjoyed the two pieces, and found another person lost in them as well.  Thank you Yva Neal for helping me with the artists name who's work this is.

I did not write much on this event. How can I. It is something I cannot experience. The presentation from each artist was their personal connection to the subject. Only they can explain. Only those who have been afflicted by breast cancer can feel the meaning of this show, as close as anyone can get.

Thank you, to all of the artists who participated in this fashion exhibit.  I hope you came away with a deeper meaning, one more than when you created your art, that you can carry through to next year.
