Randolph Street Market

I went out to see the Randolph Street Market.  I had never been there before, so I did not come with an expectation.  However, I left with one, of coming back !

I have been to a few markets.  I never know what I am going to see.  The Randolph Street Market went to the top of my list.  Professional, clean, and what I would consider a lot of great art and antiques.  If you were needing something to help decorate, to show who "you" are, this was the place to be.

I arrived when the sun was out, however the weather quickly became overcast and it did rain.  I spent about 90 minutes looking around.  Here are some photos for you to get the feel of the market this year.

For whatever reason, this next photo reminds me of my friend Brabant . . .

The wind did pick up as the storm moved in . . . started to blow some items off tables.

And I liked the DJ in the one booth . . .

This next set of photos are of Peter Sardelis' custom design lamps from recycled material.  There was definitely a lamp for everyone's liking.

Like all artists, it was very enjoyable talking to Peter.  His enthusiasm, his passion for creating, is what made him interesting to talk to.

More from other sellers . . .

I took this next photo for my friend Sophia . . .

Along with the outside market, there were sellers inside the union building on several floors . . .

And, I enjoyed talking to Fred about his Industrial Evolution.  I related to Fred's work because of my engineering.  Not that you need to be an engineer.  I understood the many variations of the peace sign's he had for sale, and how they were made.  The one I picked I believe exemplified my knowing of corrugated steel, and the hippie that is still in me.  The last photo here shows the corrugated steel peace sign I purchased.  Realize that because of the wind and rain, many sellers were pulling things under canopy in order to protect them.  So, excuse the housekeeping here . . . this is not what it looked like earlier.

This was just a one weekend event.  You will have to catch it next year if you missed it.  For one of the few times going to markets, I really enjoyed the art people created, and the antiques that were of good quality and reasonably priced.
