One can never have enough of Lou Shields, whether it be his love for coffee, or his love of music. It is personal to him. It is history to him. It is playing to the struggles of his families history in life to him. Whatever Lou chooses to write and play for, you know it is coming from Lou.
Tonight, Lou played for the first time at the Grindhouse Cafe in Griffith. This was my first time stepping into this shop, and I live in Griffith. I must say, I was very impressed with the establishment. It felt like home to me, and with Lou, like my brother was home (and I do not have a brother). I will have to come back, visit often, and reminisce this night hoping for more like it.
I really need to mention, Franz Nocolay played after Lou. I regret I could not stay to listen, for I had another commitment to photograph. I do ask that you do him the favor of checking his music out. (Link at the bottom of this blog.)
Here are some photos for you to enjoy . . .

Do not ask my why right now, perhaps you can answer. As I go through the photos and remember this evening, I am playing Led Zeppelin in my head. This is not to take away from Lou at all. Lou's music motivates me, helps me to remember the past both in friendship and experience. Listening to Led Zeppelin many many years ago just seems to fit right now.
Yes, I have a straight photo of the above, however, I am a bit turned at times . . .
As always, and I mean always, it was a great time listening to Lou. I really enjoyed visiting the Grindhouse Cafe, and recommend it to everyone. Knowing this is in my own back yard, I will have to frequent the shop often, and if they let me, take more photos. And . . . here more music ??????
