Lakenenland Junkyard Art - Marquette MI

Traveling along the upper peninsula of Michigan, we drove by a welded steel piece of art along side the road. I do not recall exactly what the sign out front said, however, just that it was art in the middle of nowhere and I had to turn around to investigate.

This park of art turned out to be a real find! I immensely enjoyed the creativity and craftsmanship it took to make this art out of steel. There are over 80 pieces of art throughout the property, and you are allowed to drive through on a dirt road or walk if you care to. We found though driving kept us out of the heat, people walking the drive actually ended up way ahead of us. Lots of stopping and starting to see everything.

Open 7-days a week, and it is FREE to the public. Off limits it seems to politicians. Here are some photos for you to enjoy. I did not take a photo of everything we saw. (At least I do not think so.) There was also another trail we did not wonder on as well.

I missed this one, meaning there is a door on the elephants rear for kids to open. Inside is a table for them to sit and play.

This figure, small and somewhat simple, was very interesting with bow tie and tails.

Yes, I would like this in my back yard to play on.
