Wes' Excellent Adventure VI

Whether spare of the moment or planned, if the day includes multiple stops or multiple sites that I enjoyed, I title the blog "Wes' Excellent Adventure". So this blog post is #5 in the series.

This day I took my bride Christi to the Chicago Botanic Garden for the Orchid show, then an ad hoc trip to The Morton Arboretum, followed by a trip down Rt. 53 which we chose to stop at the Lockport Prairie Nature Preserve. In all a very wonderful day just site seeing and taking photographs.

The photograph above was from The Morton Arboretum. The next set starts after entry into the Chicago Botanic Garden.

I am not sure how well you can see the texture on the ice. It looks a bit like an oil painting with the raised and random layered stokes of ice. The white spots of snow inform you of the weather the day before.

My bride Christi doing what she loves to do, which is why I took her here this day.

To the outdoors! Though it was cool out with a breeze, I still enjoy this part of the Gardens. Especially when our friend Michael F. and the Chicago Koto group plays there during the Japanese Garden Summer Festival.
