Hammond's Downtown FIRST 2nd Friday Celebration

I have been waiting a long time to write this. I want to move to Downtown Hammond!

Oh what an evening. Aubrey's vision was a success. The 3rd City Brass Band was perfect for this event, and I wish them back for all future events. What a way to set this shindig started!

The farmers market started this first time event at 2:00 pm on Fayette St., West of Oakley Ave. Later the Art Market opened at 3:00 pm at Paul Henry's, the alley between Paul Henry's and Towle Theater / Eat, and Substation 9. Then at 6:00 PM we had the great great pleasure of letting the 3rd City Brass Band do a NOLA style 2nd line parade down Fayette, starting at Oakley and ending in the parking lot of Paul Henry's / Towle Theater. This was just amazing! The band then performs(ed) at EAT just around the corner. Oh, and don't forget about the music offered inside by Paul Henry's Art Gallery!!! (Also check out their Thursday night acoustic open mic . . . starts at 7:00 pm.)

Wow, just wow. I have been to several community festivals. This one set itself apart from those. What I really enjoyed, beyond the 3rd City Brass Band, were the vendors selling plants. Three vendors! Had to buy my bride some flowers.

Here are a few mixed photos of Paul Henry's, Towle Theater, and Artist Alley (our Art Diagon Alley).

Now Substation 9 art . . .

Some great people, Angela and Enrique.

Photo of the flowers I bought for my bride at this vendor. The view is from our deck looking into the backyard. Our own nature preserve that has taken a lot of work.

And here comes the 2nd line . . .
