University of Chicago Open House - Crown Point

I really cannot say enough about the The University of Chicago. They basically saved my life during COVID when the other local hospitals pretty much refused to help me. Since my first visit to The University of Chicago, I have had nothing but great outcomes and experiences.

I visit many of their locations, depending upon where I may want to end up for the day, to avoid traffic, or to avoid tolls. Sometimes a location may be the one the doctor wants me to go to. My primary doctor is at their River East location, downtown Chicago. The other locations I have been to so far are DCAM in Hyde Park, Flossmoor, Homewood, Orland Park, and their new location in Crown Point.

So, on this day their Crown Point location had their open house, to invite families to learn more about The University of Chicago, and for their children to enjoy the fun and games. Me, this was my first photoshoot with my new camera, and editing with new software and computer. That in itself is a story why I needed a new camera, software, and computer. Here are some photographs of the event and from the new setup.

So, both of the computers in this next photograph do the same thing. (Yes, there are two computers, small one is on top.) The small one is my Bride's, the other mine. We both needed new computers because our old ones were running Windows 10, and cannot not be updated to Windows 11 because of our processors. I have had my older computer about 20 years now. Still better than anything I had at work because I bought it for gaming on the Internet, using the latest and greatest hardware at the time. The new computer has the same parameters. Since Christi does not game, she does not need all that fancier hardware or cooling space. Still, something to see side-by-side for doing the same thing, or in this case one on top of the other. (Microsoft will no longer provide security to their Windows 10 software at the end of 2025. Hence why we bit the bullet. We will still use our older computers, just that they will not be connected to the Internet for security sake.)
