I come and go, meaning now you see me now you don't. I have not frequented Paul Henry's Thursday Night Acoustical Jam much the last couple of years. With this renewed health I now have more energy to.
There are staples, then there are music staples. Yes, we grew up listening to the AM radio (if you are my age), and vinyl when you could afford to buy it. Today there is more instant gratification through just listening to what you like, digitally. Taking songs here and there out of context of the artist's intent of the album. However, when you play the full album or sit in front of live music, that intent is now present, in your face, to feel the musicians vibe, their story, and to incorporate it into your life. These musicians, poets, comedians, that come to Paul Henry's are human. They make mistakes. This venue and the audience allows, expects mistakes. This is their encouragement for you to move forward.
Same goes for my photography. I started my deep dive into it at Paul Henry's. As opportunities arose I took them and began to perfect my art form. Perfect is not what I want though. I want the journey, the stories that go with the journey, and the people I meet along that journey. That in itself in inspirational, moving to improvement, quality as I define it.
I did not stay long this night, so I did not photograph all who participated. I do apologize for that. I still have to follow my journey, which may be to get to bed early, of all things. Enjoy the photos!
