I spend the Sunday before Arbor Day to go by the old house in Glenwood to photograph the tree that my son Nick planted from a seed, circa 1992. The tree is still there, and much bigger than the 12" that he planted.
I then took my bride Christi to Aurelio's in down town Homewood. I first went to Aurelio's in the early 70's, when my friends dad Tad invited me with the gang. Back when Aurelio's was located on Ridge Road. Lets just say that was also when I found out Pizza was part of all the food groups. Later Sanfrantelo's popped up in Glenwood, and gave Aurelio's a run for their money, and sometimes more. However, Aurelio's has made it through the test of time because of quality and price.
Today Aurelio's is located on Harwood Avenue in Homewood. I remember going to this area when I believe it was Hines lumber. (I could be wrong.) Later the building housed a Schwinn bicycle sales and repair shop. Aerelio's obtained it, and made it into the restaurant we know it as today (the late 70's).
Along with the photograph above, here are some photographs I took of my bride and of Aurelio's.
Check them out when you get a chance. You will not be disappointed.
