Photos Around Griffith 2

I chose to take a hop skip and a jump around Griffith, to look at the cool vintage bicycles that have been painted. It inspired me so, that I have recently bought a Cruiser Bike to pedal down the bicycle path. Photos of that upcoming journey will hopefully happen soon.

Until then, enjoy the photos, starting with the first bicycle I photographed. I could not decide which view photo to post for this bicycle, so I am giving you all of them.

Saw the flyer for Lou Shields' event that took place here at the Grindhouse Cafe. Was a very nice evening. I do hope they invite him back soon.

Blue Top Drive-In 7/26/2014

Ah yes, the memories. That is what life is based on. The Blue Top Drive-In created many memories, for many people, including me. Mine are from the mid 1970's, when I was driving my customized 1969 Mustang.

Years past this was the place to out cool the other drivers and their cars. The car hops were great in that they were friendly to everyone. One would cruise through anytime you were in the neighborhood just to see who might be there . . . what was happening. It was the happening place to be.

The Blue Top re-opened this past Friday. I came over Saturday late evening to check it out. Here are my photos . . .

This Car Hop (above) was a peach to talk with. She was so excited, hearing all the people talk who use to come here. She is creating her memories now, from all of us. Too cool . . .

I kept thinking, before they opened, and again when I was here, how cool it would be if I could connect the Blue Top Drive-In with the South Shore Roller Girls (SSRG) (yes, we have roller derby in town), and do an event. One to promote the Blue Top, and to raise money for the charities that SSRG bouts for. Hmmm.

In the mean time, I think I need to find me a muscle car. Just did not sit right with me cruising in with my 13 year old Saturn. Now, if I turbo'd it maybe . . . :)

I will make more trips back here. You can bet on it. If you have been their in the past, I know you will go again. The memories are calling you. If you have never been there, please check it out. You will thoroughly enjoy it, and create more memories (contributing to your play of life).
