The Steepwater Band has been playing for about 18 years (if I have that right). They revive themselves in many ways to keep their rock 'n' roll fresh for us. One way is to release a new CD, titled "Shake Your Faith". This event was their CD release show for the Shake Your Faith album. This album includes the Eric Saylors, who I believe makes a great member to the band. To the band that is great in their own right.
The "Shake Your Faith" release part included additional artist to get us warmed up, and man, what a show. Each were unique. Each hit it their own way. It was thrilling to hear Edward David Anserson kick this all of with his roots music style, which I have come to really enjoy over the years with other artists in the area. From guitar to banjo, shoe box guitar, and kazoo, he has it all.
Davy Kowles lit it up. He grew up in the Isle of Man, learning to play guitar. Lets just say that now I believe Davy is growing up in world music. His performance is so inviting, emotional, that you cannot but smile with him as he jams is way into your mind with his music.
The Steepwater Band is becoming a world name. Their friendship and human side of music comes across to me. They jam for themselves and for us. They know how to have fun. Such fluidity in their response to the crowd this evening. I am glad to call them my friends.
Here are some photos of the evening, starting with . . .
