The Steepwater Band @ Dockside

What a weekend to go see The Steepwater Band outdoors, and to be at Dockside Bar & Grill in Ottawa, IL. The temperature was perfect, as were the days before this.

The Steepwater Band just came back from their European tour, and were in Peoria, IL the night before. It was very nice to see them again, all pumped up and ready to play. My bride Christi and I arrived early so we could look around town and check into our hotel. We located Dockside while driving around, met with the band for a little while, and they met with out Bubba. All was good.

Here are some photos Dockside, from around town, the evening with the guys, and the morning after when we left.

Going through town was interesting. When your stop light turned red, you could see the chain of lights down the road change red in sync with the speed limit. When it turned green, before you came to the next light it turned green, and so on down the road. Clever.

I like town clocks. I do not know exactly why. My remembrance goes back to when I was age 3 or 4, when I was memorized with my girlfriend Patti's father's koo koo clock. Yes, I had a girlfriend back then. I came back from my cousin's wedding one day and told here I got married. She did not like that.

Ottawa is home to the first debate between incumbent Douglas, and Lincoln, back on August 21, 1858, for U.S. Senator of Illinois. (Later loosing the election.) (History buffs, please correct me if I am wrong.)

My bride, the most wonderful person in the world, Christi . . .

Some more photos the next morning before we left town . . .

Go visit Ottawa, Illinois. Go visit Dockside Bar & Grill, because you will enjoy the hospitality, the food, the venue. A cool place for bikers to stop at too . . .
