Beggars Banquet at Acorn Theater

In 1971 I started High School. My English teacher was a hard core Rolling Stones fan. That made for a pretty cool English class. I found out some of my classmates were big fans too. Who I considered the "cool" kids. Me, I did not give the band much thought. I was still digging the 5th Dimension, Sly and The Family Stone, Three Dog Night, The Jackson Five, some Simon and Garfunkel, Rare Earth, getting into some Carol King, Led Zeppelin, and The Who. Throughout high-school it was Deep Purple, Black Sabath, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Yes, Neil Young, Stevie Wonder, Emerson Lake & Palmer, George Harrison, Supertramp, Queen, Patti Smith, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Uriah Heep, Blue Oyster Cult, Nektar, Electric Light Orchestra, and Fleetwood Mac. Never did I really consider the The Rolling Stones. Just goes to show some peoples music upbringing will be different than others.

As time goes by, you see more of The Rolling Stones and understand the part they play in our music culture. They are iconic. They were part of the British invasion into the United States Rock'n Roll theme. The ones who made it all the way through. Their initial blues turned into their own music. Their own creation. No longer was The Beatles pop type music good enough. We need The Rolling Stones rock.

So it is fitting to pay tribute to The Rolling Stones. Beggars Banquet is one such tribute band who characterizes The Rolling Stones throughout their show. The music rocks. The energy is high. The venue, Acorn Theater, made it very enjoyable.

This is the second time I have been to Three Oaks, MI. I have to say, the Acorn Theater is definitely venue to see a show at. The inside is warm and welcoming. The theater goers are polite and wanting to have a good time. Acorn Theater puts their best foot forward, from what I saw, to give you an experience to remember.

Here are some photos from this evening. Please enjoy!
