South Shore Roller Girls 3/17/18

This was a tough game between SSRG of NW Indiana and the Confluence Crush of Bellville, IL. Bout 1 resulted in a win for the Confluence Crush, and bout 2 a win for SSRG.

I swear, these ladies have Derby stamped on their DNA. They are very dedicated to winning when on the floor, and friends off the floor. They do it free for charity, and this this games 2 injuries, they do it without fear. Confluence Crush did all this with a 5 hour drive as well!

Here are some photographs, okay many photographs, of the bout, starting with some warm up.

(Note: This season the bouts are held at "The Diggz" in Hobart. Hope to see you there next time.)

I swear the start of the jams looked like a rugby scrum.

Another example of "derby" stamped on your DNA.

New venue, new floor conditions. This piece together flooring I think was a trick for skaters to get a grip on. Photograph below is SSRG checking out the floor again between periods.

The next photograph reminds me of a traffic JAM on 80/94. Pun intended.

Between bouts . . . children had a chance to run the track with the Region Rat!

It was fun to see the young girls getting signatures from the derby girls. Reminded me of cons I go to.
