Obviously everyone enjoys coming to this annual event or they would not have come. What makes events like this special are the people. They are there enjoying, they are there for the thrill of the hunt, they are wanting very much to show off their cosplay, they want a cosplay safe place to do that in. Most of all, they want to bring their family. Yes, this is family fun. It is fun watching them plan their walk through all of the vendors, to the food court, to the stage, and loop back around over and over again. Then watching them walk the same floor in a different direction, turning each trip into something new.
Yep, the biggest thriller was that this was families within our NWI Comic Con family. One super big support group of comics and things related.
As a fan of sci-fi and cosplay, and the enjoyment of photography, I took way too many photographs, again. There was a first at a con for me too. A cosplayer asked that I not take their photo and to delete any that I may have taken. No questions, I just did what they asked.
This convention was brought together twelve years ago for the people of NWI to have a safe place to enjoy their fandom of comics and everything related. It was to be only a ten year plan, that extended two additional years. I do hope that another super geek like Brian can pick up the torch and carry on. I know I would want to help that venture, in whatever small way I can. I say small, because I have another venture I am undertaking. Otherwise I might consider all in.
Given all this, these photographs will be the celebration Of the people For the people of NWI and those who traveled distances to join us. I am going to leave out many I took of vendors so make room for the people. Things end, as this is the last NWI Comic Con, at least from Brian. Is there another Geek out there to take and carry the torch this next round of years?
