Brabant Lenting

Brabant Lenting February 2, 1946 - December 26,2021

As your friends pass away, you become more aware how vulnerable life is. My words can never say enough about Brabant. He is a giant in the arts. He is well respected. He supported and gave guidance in my photography.

I first met Brabant at Paul Henry's Art Gallery in Hammond. This is probably where most of us who read my blogs met him. The introduction I am sure came from Lou Shields, a great friend of mine and Brabant's.

We call him Maestro of Art in every sense of the word. I describe Brabant as a person having a big heart, and of strong opinion. I believe anyone who met him calls him a friend.

Brabant's work can be seen at the "Fernwood Botanical Garden" through January 2, 2022. From my understanding it was his wish that all who new him pay a visit.

A good intended outcome of my blogs is that I have the chance to relive the times. In this case my time with Brabant. It is not that I took the photographs that was important. What is important is that I was there with him.

This last photograph is of Brabant boogie'n to the music downtown Hammond. In every way he was an abstract, multi color, mixed media person.

God Has Blessed You My Friend
