It is cool to have artist friends. Andy Stephenson and Dave Thiesen of The Wild Torching Spree played at The Elbo Room in Chicago this Sunday. My friend Melissa Latronica-Welch and her alto sax also made a guest appearance with them.
I have been to the Elbo Room a few times. Never, have I seen the upper floor packed the way it was for my friends. Here are some photos for you to enjoy . . .
My favorite photo of the evening . . . Melissa . . .
Now, Melissa and Andy . . .
And a touch of Dave added in . . .
This evening turned out to be special for me. I was happy to see Andy and Dave at a venue in Chicago. I was super pleased, and surprised, to find Melissa accompanying them. I do have an artistic soft spot for Melissa in my heart. She wants so much to play alto sax, and she deserves every minute of time that a band can pick her up and put her in. So thanks to The Wild Torching Spree!
These photos may not be the best quality you will find. I will say I really enjoyed the composition of them. I hope you did as well.
