Beatles Fest 2016

For Debra G.'s blog, click "here".

I have to say I really enjoyed this years Beatles Fest. Much had to do with giving the fest more room. It made it much easier to walk around! This was the first year for this venue arrangement, taking it to the street for the fest, Hohman Avenue to be exact.

Local bands who love music, who love The Beatles, and the best tribute Beatles band around. You really could not ask for more. Well, yes you can, two band stages to give you musical entertainment throughout the entire day!

This is one great event because it was all local. Local bands, local food trucks, local sponsors, and local participants like Paul Henry's Art Gallery located in Hammond. Shop local!

Sponsors are very important to this event. Without them we could not afford to have so many quality bands and low price tickets. The sponsors take on this burden to give back to the community. It has been said many times, and I will write it, without our local business sponsors this event may not have taken place. Here is the list of this seasons sponsors:

ATG Real Estate Development, Lear Corporation, Unilever, Franciscan St. Margaret Health, Potash Corp, Bellsom Electric, Accucraft Imaging, Indiana Harbor Belt, RainMaker Irrigation, Meier's Landscaping & Lawn Service, Leopardo Energy, Cender & Company LLC, Community Financial Service Centers, Amereco, Inc., Tri-State Automation, Budd Mechanical Systems, Hammond Urban Enterprise Association, Arnel Inc.

Given that, there were two price offers this year that I am not sure people understood, $10 for General Admission and $25 for VIP Admission. The $10 General Admission went up to $20 the day of the event. The $25 allowed you to be closer to the stage, and those tickets sold out first. Remember this for next year peeps!

Enjoy the Fest with me!!! The first photo starts around 1:15 pm with staff sampling some of the water melon slices. I had one . . . they were goooood . . .

All roads were properly marked for Beatles Fest . . .

Waiting for the doors to open at 1:30 pm.

First band up on the main stage was Rooftop!

First band up on the 2nd stage, Rocky Road!

Second band up on the main stage, Rosie & The Rivets!

Friend Gary Price was there with his Beatles art of mugs, sketches, pillows, and more. You can see and buy more of Gary's work by clicking here.

Children's fund are included cookie decorating . . .

Chasing bubbles (more photos later in the blog), and more . . .

Second up on the 2nd stage was Hail Mary!

Next up on the main stage were our great friends, Nomad Planets!!!

And of course this would not be Beatles Fest for me without Paul Henry's Art Gallery, where they were raffling off artwork by Chris Klocek!

Next up on the 2nd stage was One Timer!

The problem with new cameras and automatic focus is, they automatic focus. Still, the next photograph, even though not what I wanted to focussed on, was cool enough to show you. (Follow the bouncing ball into bucket #5.)

Another great band on the main stage, Nicole Jamrose Band!

Had the opportunity to photography my bride Christi with Phil and Mark . . .

Some bubble chasing, children chasing trying to bite them. It was like watching Cookie Monster chasing a cookie, if you can picture that . . .

Between main stage band load out / load in, music mix by Rythm Scholar!

Next up on the main stage, Dick Diamond and The Dusters! I had never seen them play before. My bride Christi has. They are very entertaining and very strong in vocal and energy!

Wait for it, wait for it . . .

Wait for it, wait for it . . .
