I graduated from this campus several times with my diplomas stating Purdue University. I first entered Purdue Fall of 1981. Life became more important than continued education at that time, so I dropped out after Fall 1991 without any type of degree or certificate. After my divorce I re-entered Purdue Spring of 1997 and received my first Associate of Science Mechanical Engineering Technology May, 1998, followed by: AS Manufacturing Engineering Technology May 2000, AS Organizational Leadership and Supervision August 2000, BS Mechanical Engineering Technology May 2001, BS Industrial Engineering Technology December 2001, Certificate Quality Control May 2002, Certificate Machining December 2002, Certificate Leadership May 2003, and finally a Certificate in Lean Six Sigma May 2009 with 185 earned credit hours, 141 GPA credit hours, and a 3.60 GPA. Somewhere along the way I also received my AS in Industrial Engineering Technology May 2000, but my transcript does not show that. I will have to ask about that.
I had met a lot of friends along that path, some of whom I was able to secure jobs where I worked, along with securing some hours for an intern on a work research project of mine.
I do miss those days. It would be fun to extend my time there, if it were free. Being on fixed social security dampens what you can do at age 68. I could get a part time job I suppose to help pay for it. But then there is other aspects of my life I want to enjoy too. No need to create stress from piling too much on the plate. Need to stay on the healthy diet as it were.
Here are some photographs that I took this day. What surprised me was the remake of the first floor of the Classroom Office (CLO) building. That building was put up when was attending, and I was taking my heat transfer class there the summer semester it opened up. They were still working on the air balancing, so it was a bit uncomfortable, but still nice to be in a new classroom. The first floor was all classrooms, with a small extension for a breakroom. They basically gutted the first floor and remade to a very welcoming relax / study area.
Yes, I am a member of Tau Alpha Pi.
What was very nice to see was student art.
