We did not experience any thievery, mugging, gun shots, protests, and because of a Federal Judge, we were now ineligible to be picked up by ICE without a warrant. The Middle East gentlemen that helped us in the parking garage went way beyond the call of duty for us. Such a quality experience. Foreign Tourists were having fun. People were walking to work. Lots of joggers getting their daily runs in. Lots of pet owners taking dogs for a walk. All was good in the neighborhood.
In other words, it went like any other day in Chicago for us, and I have been doing this for at least forty-eight years.
We arrived about 10:00 AM. It was a bit chilly. Once we found spots of sun along the way we basked in it for a while to warm up. After the half way point of our walk you could feel it getting warmer out. By the time we left the temperature was quite comfortable on the cool side.
We stopped at a restaurant to have something to eat. We split a beef sandwich that rated for me in my top two. As I indicated before, the foreign people and tourists were great to be around because they were enjoying Chicago. What did piss me off was an out of state driver on the way home. A car with Minnesota plates was in front of me on the way home. As we turned off Lower Wacker to take the ramp up to Lake Shore Drive, the idiot in front of us tossed all his garbage out of his car and onto the road. Piles of it, and it looked like left over food. It was not like I could stop and pick it up or I would have. (Would have caused an accident.)
Here are a lot of photographs. I enjoy architectural scenery, as you will see. Each photograph, perhaps similar to you so "why did I post it", tell different stories to me. This is why I post a lot of photographs.
Chicago Twin Towers in the background (next photograph).
To note, there are several locations along the Chicago Riverwalk that has signage as to what can be found along the walk, including plenty of restrooms along the walk.
The photograph below, it was interesting to see protrusions from the glass. Not sure what they were for. Are they open, or just for decoration? If anyone knows or can find out, let me know.
It is not new. I have photographed before, yet still find it interesting. An angled flat ramp across a horizontal set of stairs.
A late photograph. Prior, pigeons were flying at is in droves. Felt like an Alfred Hitchcock movie.
Planes, trains, boats, and automobiles. Okay, missing the plane. Still, this photograph has the other three. Notice how the L-train is dwarfed by the V-shaped building.
The funny looking tapered sided blue glass building is where we parked (underneath).
Front side of Chicago House of Blues.
Back side of Chicago House of Blues.
Twin Tower apartments with lower level tenant parking. Completed in 1964, this is a cool architecture for sure.
The blue chair in the sun caught my eye. I guess a lot catches my eye, so I photograph.
