I think the greatest music comes when musicians do what they do, for themselves, because that is what they want to do. Create, experiment, make new even with a song they have played thousands of times before. Scrap that you brought in a full house. Scrap that you are getting paid to please the audience. Scrap the commercialization. What you are left with once you scrap is deep, heart felt trueness to the music. This is what The Robots displayed tonight.

Yes, tonight Bob Sherman was not there. This is not to suggest at all that The Robots did better without Bob. The Robots did do "different" without Bob. They played a stripped down version of their music. Each taking turns to show the "trueness" of their music. This allowed them to experiment, get in a couple new songs (actually 4 new if I recall), and just plain do what they enjoy doing. Being creative, in tune with themselves and fellow musicians. To pull back and make raw, without any big fan fare. True blues. The best I have seen from them.
Here are some photos of the evening. Lately I have been "exposure" correcting. Not tonight. Like The Robots who played raw music tonight, I am giving you my raw photo experience to compliment them. (Click on the above bar, on "The Robots" for more info.)
