It is fun following Lou Shields around. This time I followed him to the Brauer House in Lombard. It is sort of a bikers bar with a large stage for bands. This night the lineup was . . .
Here are some photos. Opening was my bud Lou Shields.
Next up, Me And The Devil. This duo had a great stage presence. One that commanded attention. I love the steel guitar here.
The duo then brought up a friend to sing blues with them. I really liked her voice. She fit the blues . . .
And yes, there were color changing lights for all the sets. It was a chore keeping up with them. This next photo I left the way it looked on stage for that moment.
Now our headlining band, Deadstring Brothers. This band is smooth. The blues goes deep, the sound rich. They were perfect for closing us out, and keeping us there.
This next photo also gives you an idea of the stage lighting I had to work with. This is how it looked when I shot it . . . no tricks up my sleeve . . .
Thank you to all the bands. A great thanks to Lou Shields. He has kept his music pure, delta blues style, like sitting along the railway hobo'n, like in the 20's and 30's. His music gives you a sense of our history. One we admire, yet can feel the struggles of the time.
Here are some links to the bands, and Lou, for you to enjoy.
Here is a link to the Brauer House. This is a cool venue to go to. The food was good. The atmosphere was great.
