I arrived around 11:00 am and by chance found a parking spot very close to the West end of the festival. As soon as I got out of the car, I heard an accordion playing music what I would call "from the old country". It was very uplifting and enjoyable.
As I photographed the gentlemen posed and smiled as he played through the song. He came up to me and gave me his flyer, asking (in what seemed broken English, though I do not hear to well these days) if I would help spread the word for him. His smile and courtesy was heartfelt. Of course, this is what I do, help spread the word. His name is Steve Kowalczyk. He advertises ballroom dance music; Walz, Tango, Rumba, Foxtrot, Samba, Polka, Mazurka, and Tarantella. Some 290 songs. All of the information was written on on a standard size paper with a score from Santa Lucia on the flyer. I really did like his accordion music. You can contact him at steffko45@yahoo.com, or call him at 219.210.2738.
Here are some photos of the festival for you to enjoy!
Chalk art on the road! This is why I come to this festival. I become energized watching all who participate in this.
