BackyardAPalooza at Bottoms Up - Lansing IL

This Saturday I went to the BackyardAPalooza at the Bottoms Up Bar & Grill in Lansing, IL. I have been there a couple times to photograph musician friends who play there. So I was eager to see what this was about, and still, continue my journey for another photo gig I wanted to do later that evening.

I arrived about 6:30PM. I missed my buddy Lou Shields. However, you do not have to. Check out the right hand column of my blog, under "Friends of Wes . . ." and you will find links to his work.

I did catch Tony Cortina, who I first met at Paul Henry's Art Gallery, their Thursday night JAM, a little over a year ago. Tony is cool, like Doctor Who bow ties and fezzes. Here are some photos.

This young lady's voice blew me away, and I did not even THink to ask her name. Her soul, sound, inner being, reminded me of both Tori Amos and Alanis Morsett. I really want to follow her (not in a stalking way mind you) to watch her grow her talent.

8/5/2013 - Amy McCormick, she found me!!!! Thank you Amy!

Friend, drummer for The Robots, Ed Fell and his wife . . .

Next up was Bad Cadillac. I met these guys through my friend Josh, who is playing the harp in this next photo. Bad Cadillac has a great sound and they entertain. I have been trying to catch up with these guys to do more photography of them, and was happy to get them at the time I did . . . great lighting . . .

Friend, bass for The Robots, Danny Mac (in blue) . . .

Yes, I had to watch out for bean bags too . . .

And . . . friend Marty Cohen (in red) . . .
